Being born in Edinburgh, the book and film has always deeply resonated with me.
Brutally and beautifully written, it’s a snapshot of the life of a heroin addicts’ day to day struggles.
And there are plenty…
It made me laugh, cry and ultimately count myself lucky that my life never took the direction of Mark Renton, played by the awesome Ewan McGregor in the film.
If you’ve never read it, in my opinion, you’re missing out. Also the film has an amazing soundtrack which complements it perfectly.
So, hats off to a genius story teller – Mr Irvine Welsh…*Deep curtsy.*
