Summer in Shetland

I’m looking forward to a family trip to ‘The Homeland’ this summer.  I haven’t been there since 1988 – so I’m expecting to see quite a few changes.

A place like no other, my precious memories of Shetland are, rough boat trips, fishing, fiddle music, sheep, and miles and miles of glorious beaches.  Oh, and weddings that last for about a week…

I imagine that it’s a perfect writing retreat where I could see myself sitting at a battered desk, over looking a voe ~ a small bay.  What absolute bliss…

I’ll keep you posted whether that one pans out.

In the meantime, please join me in appreciating her breathtaking beauty and the cute ponies (in cardigans).
